Lower Back or Hip Pain

Lower back and hip pain occurs if the foot pronates or ‘turns in’ excessively leading to:

1. The leg internally rotating

2. The pelvis tilting forward

3. The curve of the spine increasing

The resultant aching, stiffness and pain in the back and/or hips can be treated by the use of orthoses which work by reducing the over pronation of the foot thus improving the alignment of the skeletal structure and removing the stress from the skeleton and muscles.

In order to prescribe orthoses which will be effective in treating Lower Back and Hip Pain the podiatrist will first of all carry out a full Biomechanical Assessment and Gait Analysis
