Foot or Toe Pain

Pain in the foot and toes can be caused due to poor foot function leading to foot deformity and conditions such as:

  • Metatarsalgia – inflammation of the metatarsal area (ball of foot)

  • Morton Neuroma – inflammation due to entrapment of the digital nerve, usually between the 3rd and 4th Metatarsal heads.

  • Bunions – Deviation of the big toe joint

  • Hammer Toes – deformity of the lesser toes

These conditions frequently lead to painful corns and calluses further increasing already painful symptoms.

To assess the underlying cause of any of these conditions your specialist podiatrist will carry out a Biomechanical and Gait Analysis.

This assessment will help to identify any abnormalities in the way your foot is structured and whether this can be helped by the prescription of Functional Foot Orthoses.
